The Restriction of Hazardous Substances (RoHS) Directive restricts the use of six hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment sold in Europe effective July 1, 2006. Sprecher + Schuh products falling within the scope of the RoHS Directive are computer products such as industrial computers, monitors, and accessories. As of July 1, 2006, all Sprecher + Schuh products that fall within the scope of the RoHS Directive will be fully compliant. Furthermore, Sprecher + Schuh’s long term goal is to meet the RoHS material restrictions on products, even where compliance is not legally required.
The REACH (Registration, Evaluation, Authorization and Restriction of Chemicals) regulation, effective June 1, 2007, improved the legislation on chemicals of the European Union (EU). Sprecher + Schuh’s commitment to REACH aims to ensure the highest level of environmental health and safety by assessing and managing the risks posed by chemicals and providing appropriate safety information to their users.
