Question:

When I mount KT7 in a deep enclosure the Shaft seems to droop and miss the handle mechanism. What do I do?

Answer:

The KT7-HT and KT7-HTL extension shaft is for use with KTA7, KTB7, KTC7, and KTU7. The KT7-HT shaft lines up with the KT7-HTN or KT7-HTRY door coupling handle adequately up to about 200mm (7.8 inch) in length (depth). When the KT7-HTL 400 mm extension shaft is used or the KT7-HTN depth is over 200 mm then the shaft seems to droop and alignment is an issue.

The KT7-SHS extension shaft support is designed to prevent shaft misalignment in applications requiring deep enclosures and longer shaft extensions. The KT7-SHS shaft-support mounts on the right side of the KTA7, KTB7, and KTC7 and allows for installation of side-mount auxiliaries. The Shaft support also mounts on the right side of the KTU7 molded case circuit breaker. Note that side-mount auxiliaries cannot be used with KTU7 even before the introduction of the shaft-support.
