The LA7/LE7 and LE2/LA2 switches cannot be used as a main disconnect since neither product has the required phase to phase or pole to pole spacing per UL98 requirements. If a UL 98 disconnect switch is required the Series L11 disconnect switch meets these requirements.

The LA7/LE7 and LE2/LA2 switches also do not provide any thermal overload protection to the load. Therefore, they are not recommended as main disconnect switches for non-UL applications.

However, the LA7/LE7 and LE2/LA2 switches are UL listed to UL 508 and can be used as a manual motor controller; suitable for motor disconnect at motor use.
